Join Pastor Melinda for a meaningful morning of church and service. This is a wonderful way to live out our faith in a multi-generational, active setting. Please wear pants and closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle if needed. Please note in advance that volunteers are on their feet and working quickly (sorting and packing food) the whole time in a warehouse. The minimum age requirement is a hard-working 9-year-old otherwise, 10. We will close our time together with simple prayer and communion.

Mobile Houseless Ministry

This important ministry is entering its third year helping our houseless friends living in the encampments next to the Los Angeles River near downtown Long Beach. We appreciate your continuing support. Each week several bags of donations arrive. Our needs continue to be jeans and tennis shoes for men and women, as well as coats, blankets and sheets. Please bring your items to any “Being the Church, Long Beach” office during weekday business hours or Sunday mornings.

Donations Needed: coats, beanie’s, blankets and fast food gift cards
The nights are chilly so warm gear will be appreciated. At our last visit on November 24 most of our ‘customers’ were on site before the team was set up. The Jump Start Ministries food truck arrived twenty minutes after we were set up. Persons know if they get there too late, the popular items like coats, blankets and fast food gift cards will be gone. You have been very generous, and our friends are thankful.
We routinely distribute mesh laundry bags, clothes, tennis shoes, socks, solar lights, flashlights, toilet paper, paper towels and hygiene kits.
