Meet in the driveway/parking area at the corner of 1st St and PCH in Seal Beach. It is at the light directly across from Department of Water and Power down a dirt road.
We will be removing non-native plant species, and lots of mulching.
Join us to make a difference. We will start with simple prayer and communion and then help with this important local area’s restoration.
Notes:
Close-toed shoes required. Boots recommended.
Bring work gloves if you have them.
Use sun protection: hat, sunscreen, long sleeves/pants (clothes you don't mind getting dirty.)
Bring filled, reusable water bottles and snacks to keep energy levels up.

Mobile Houseless Ministry

On October 26, the Being the Church Mobile Houseless Ministry had a big outing with our Jumpstart Partner Jamie Armstead and his food truck, plus Pastor Dan Lewis. In addition to a hot meal, we distributed a lot of clothes, hygiene kits, and shoes. We have seen a shift in the location of our friends. The City has rousted (or found shelter) for many of our community who were south of Anaheim. More persons are now coming from RV’s parked along the River north of Anaheim Street. Our critical need remains men’s and women’s everyday pants, preferably jeans. Please drop items off weekdays at church offices, or Sunday’s during coffee hour. A special thanks to our Wednesday dinner church who packed 96 hygiene kits on a recent evening. Our team will distribute those kits during our November outing.

Blessing of the Animals
Blessing of the Animals
Mark your calendars and set those tail wags for Sunday, October 6th, at 1 PM. We'll be gathering at Grace on 3rd to sprinkle some extra love and blessings on our furry friends.
Whether your companion has fur, feathers, scales, or anything in between, all critters are welcome to join in the fun!
Let's make this event the cat's meow, the dog's bark, and the bunny's hop! See you there!

We are returning to Lazy W Ranch for a weekend of all ages and for the ages!

Mobile Houseless Ministry
Next service day: Saturday, September 28
In-person volunteers and donations are needed. Specifically, donations of men’s and women’s jeans and shorts are needed. Please bring items to local church offices for distribution. Church volunteers staff the donations table where clothes, shoes, socks, hygiene kits, flashlights, blankets, toilet paper and paper towels, dog food and snacks are all distributed. Jamie Armstead with Jumpstart Industries operates the food truck. Clergy serve communion and offer prayer. All of our churches contribute to this ministry where we serve about 50 to 60 people each month. Most are encamped within one mile of our mobile site. We see familiar faces and new faces. Many are awaiting a housing voucher from the City of LB Health Department multiservice center, and will eventually move to an apartment at a converted motel. The Homeless Services Bureau of the Health and Human Services Department of the City of Long Beach is partnering with us monthly!
