Make a Difference Day!
Being the Church invites YOU to join 100’s of volunteers to make a difference in our community! During registration, you select from a variety of hosted opportunities such as sprucing up a local food bank or decorating cookies for LB firefighters, to name a few. Then, on the big day, we meet together for a quick pizza lunch and welcome time, and then get to the volunteering. Please sign up, bring a friend and let’s make a difference together!

Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE) and Temple Israel are hosting a powerful Passover seder meal, and you are invited. We will learn together about the ongoing struggle for worker’s rights and economic justice and how this movement intersects with the Passover story. A simple meal is provided as part of the event.

Groundlings Day Camp is a multi-generational ministry of Being the Church, Long Beach. We strive to offer every Groundlings camper a sense of deep belonging in a supportive community of peers through a whole lot of recreation and play, creativity, and fun. Paired in “family groups” throughout the day, Groundlings campers learn about themselves and one another, and our collective faith story.
Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Campers must be entering Kindergarten - 8th grade

We’re Going to the Farm! The GIVING Farm!
Join us for a meaningful morning of service. We will be working to harvest produce, weed or plant. Following our volunteering, we will have a short time of prayer and communion together.
Dress for success in the following:
Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty
Closed toe-shoes (work boots or hiking boots preferred).
Thick long pants and long-sleeved shirts preferred.
Things to bring:
Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
Water bottle
Personal garden gloves (optional, we will have gloves available)
Note: Do NOT park or check-in at the school entrance, the high school is closed. Parking will be onsite at the farm (behind the school).

On this Sunday morning, we will partner with the Long Beach Rescue Mission to serve our neighbors in need. We will be preparing and serving a hot breakfast to mission residents as well as helping with some much needed inventory and reorganizing. We will have a moment of prayer and communion amid all of our work together, too. We will be standing a lot; please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Families are welcome with children under 16 years accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Please register early as this project has a limited number of participants. We will host another volunteer opportunity as we see that numbers reach the maximum! God is good to send many faithful servants!
