BTS Donation Drive: Art Supplies for the Sherman Indian High School
Once again, across our Long Beach UMC’s, we are joining up to collect ART SUPPLIES for Sherman Indian High School 2026-2027 school year! Items can be delivered to the church narthex on Sunday mornings or office during business hours from Sunday, July 26 to Sunday, August 23. The following are items being collected: (all items should be new) Sketch pads, Drawing paper, Tracing paper, Colored pencils (artist type), Art markers, Gel pens, Gifts cards from Michaels are also accepted.

Get ready for a wonderful, encouraging, uplifting time with God’s church! Hiking, yoga, small group Bible study, archery, outdoor worship, and a talent show! Make memories for a lifetime.
All ages are invited and encouraged. Singles, couples, families with children, retiree's, college-aged friends. All means all. :)
Included in your cost
Two nights in cabin-style, bunk bed accommodations. There is a limited number of non-bunkbed accommodations.
Five meals: Friday dinner - Sunday lunch, prepared by Lazy W Ranch staff.
Crafts, archery, hiking, small group Bible study, games, yoga, campfire + songs, s'mores, and the all camp talent show! Plus, lots of free time too .
COST: Our goal is to make camp accessible and camperships are available to everyone. We want you at camp. Reach out to your local church pastor or Rev. Melinda if you need financial support to attend camp. melinda@beingthechurchlb.org

On this Saturday morning, we will partner with the Long Beach Rescue Mission to serve our neighbors in need. We will be preparing and serving a lunch to mission residents and possibly helping with some much-needed inventory and reorganizing. We will have a moment of prayer and communion amid all of our work together, too. We will be standing a lot; we will be in a busy kitchen and cafeteria-type environment, and closed-toed, non-slip shoes and food prep/serve attire are recommended. Families with children under 16 years, accompanied by a parent/guardian, are welcome.

2026 River Rafting Summer Trip
River Rafting Trip 2026!

Youth entering 6th-12th gr.
Cost $250 includes transportation, lodging, Kern River guides rafting trip and 3 meals
After a super successful river rafting trip last year, we are returning to raft the Kern River this summer. All youth entering 6th-12th grades are invited to join the fun. Hosted by ministry-safe certified parent volunteers, the trip includes an afternoon of river rafting, pizza dinner, games, and small group devotions. Join us for a meaningful morning of being the church in service.
We will be partnering with Community Marketplace at Admiral Kidd Park in Long Beach, where families in need receive fresh produce, protein such as chicken, and staple groceries like rice.
This location was carefully chosen for the Food Hub and Community Marketplace because it lies within a food desert—an area where residents have limited access to supermarkets and large grocery stores that offer affordable and healthy options.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle!

Paired in “family groups” throughout the day, Groundlings campers learn about themselves and one another, and our collective faith story.
Camp runs Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Join us as we team up with the Aquarium of the Pacific to restore part of Zedler Marsh and protect and revitalize this precious coastal ecosystem. Join us to create a healthier habitat for local wildlife.
Notes:
Close-toed shoes required. Boots recommended.
Bring work gloves if you have them.
Ages 14 and up (minors should be accompanied by an adult)
Use sun protection: hat, sunscreen, long sleeves/pants (clothes you don't mind getting dirty)
Bring filled, reusable water bottles and snacks to keep energy levels up.

Hosted by Rev. Dan and Being the Church Ministry Safe screened adult volunteers, youth are invited for a fun night. Youth will make THEIR OWN PIZZA and watch an outdoor movie together at Belmont Heights UMC. Bring $5.00, warm clothes, a blanket - and appetite! These are ongoing throughout the year, so be sure to make your calendars for every “5th Friday” FUN night.

Meet in the driveway/parking area at the corner of 1st St and PCH in Seal Beach. It is at the light directly across from Department of Water and Power down a dirt road.
Join us as we team up with the Aquarium of the Pacific to restore part of Zedler Marsh and protect and revitalize this precious coastal ecosystem. Join us to create a healthier habitat for local wildlife.
Notes:
Close-toed shoes required. Boots recommended.
Bring work gloves if you have them.
Ages 14 and up (minors should be accompanied by an adult)
Use sun protection: hat, sunscreen, long sleeves/pants (clothes you don't mind getting dirty)
Bring filled, reusable water bottles and snacks to keep energy levels up.
There is one porta-potty on site.
