Servant Sunday
Farm Lot 59 is a working urban farm that specializes in growing rare and unusual varieties of flowers and organic vegetables. The farm’s mission is to incubate and inspire the culture of urban farming in our community through education, food accessibility, and by being a model of sustainable agriculture practices.
We will serve on the farm this Sunday together with simple communion and prayer. All ages are welcome!
Where: Meet at the Farm Lot 59 Parking Lot.
What to Bring: Signed Waiver (access during online registration). Water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, garden gloves, tools.
FUN Night for Youth (6th - 12th grades)
Register today and invite a friend. Every 5th Friday (ok, it’s the 4th Friday this month!), we do something super fun! These fun times are planned by our youth, and every one of them is different.
Our young adults are hosting a smash hit super FUN night for youth at a perennial favorite: Camelot Golfland in Anaheim. After pizza and drinks, we will play a full round of mini-golf together. Drop off and pick up is at the event site. Carpooling is encouraged! Advance sign up is required by March 11 via Church Center App or register now at 5th Friday Fun Night
Servant Sunday
Meet in the driveway/parking area at the corner of 1st St and PCH in Seal Beach. It is at the light directly across from Department of Water and Power down a dirt road.
We will be removing non-native plant species, and lots of mulching.
Join us to make a difference. We will start with simple prayer and communion and then help with this important local area’s restoration.
Notes:
Close-toed shoes required. Boots recommended.
Bring work gloves if you have them.
Use sun protection: hat, sunscreen, long sleeves/pants (clothes you don't mind getting dirty.)
Bring filled, reusable water bottles and snacks to keep energy levels up.
There is one portapotty on site.
FUN Night for Youth (6+ - 12th grades)
California Heights UMC welcomes all youth and their families of the “Being the Church Long Beach” to an open-door fun time. We will have food, fun, and fellowship. Games, a scavenger hunt, and “Ghost in the Graveyard” are a few of the activities. Details on how to RSVP will be coming soon.

Youth Summer of Service
This summer, we are excited to offer a few special days for our middle and high school youth. Summer of service is open to all youth entering 6th grade and departing 12th grade. We will learn a little about why we serve as disciples of Christ, and then we will serve as disciples in Christ. We will also play games, hang out, and enjoy some special treats along the way.
The days will be led by Rev. Melinda Dodge with parent support, and other volunteer leaders. All persons will be Ministry Safe certified prior to the event. :)

Younger Youth Sleepover (Grades 4th-8th)
Our younger youth will have a super fun sleepover this spring. We will meet up on Friday evening for dinner, games, movie and devotion time. Then, on Saturday morning, we will go together to “Servant Saturday” at Farm Lot 59 in Signal Hill. It will be a great night of fellowship and faith conversations together. Sign up coming soon. Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser
Please join Habitat LA and the Long Beach Area Faith Coalition at the Raise the Roof Wine Tasting Event on Sunday, April 30 in the afternoon. This year’s event will be held at a private home in Long Beach. Enjoy wine tasting, food, live music, opportunity drawings, auction items and more. This event supports the next 36 townhomes that are under construction in Long Beach. Tickets are $55.
