Did you know that May is Pride Month AND Older Adults Month?  Being the Church, Long Beach will be celebrating both by hosting an important workshop on May 16 at Grace UMC.  All are invited to attend.  Hosted by the CSULB Gerontology Program, the workshop takes data on LGBTQ+ older adults and brings it forward as a way of understanding historical barriers and disparate treatment of this community.  Areas included in the workshop:  Trauma, Caregiving, Networks, Education and Next Steps.

We hope that this event on LGTQ+ Elders Day will proffer important conversation and awareness around the specific issues that challenge LGBTQ+ older adults as well as provide support and resources for the community.
